Using road accident data obtained explicitly from official government sources, we made a map of places where the most severe car accidents happen repeatedly, and using that map, we made the Awarner App.

When you approach each accident-prone section, AWARNER gives you an audio warning: “Accident-prone section ahead".

AWARNER MISSION

In the United States, more than 6 million motor vehicle traffic crashes occur annually, killing more than 40 thousand people and injuring more than 4 million.

Every day you get in your car, you risk becoming one of them.

Is it possible to foresee the danger on the road? After all, a danger foreseen is half-avoided.

There are places on roads where accidents are recurrent.  This is often due to a combination of objective characteristics of road sections that periodically cause crashes.

What if someone were to collect information about all the places on the road where accidents happen regularly, map such accident-prone sections, and warn you before you approach them?

We obtained data on over 95% of road accidents over the recent three years from official government sources, analyzed them, and mapped the road sections where the most serious accidents regularly occur.

Based on this map, we created Awarner, a mobile app that will alert you to every accident-prone road section as you approach it.

Simply turn on Awarner before you start your trip. During your trip, you will receive an audio signal when you approach each accident-prone road section and information about the consequences of accidents on this section.

The Awarner app functions the same way in both Back Mode and Foreground Mode, meaning you can use your favorite navigation apps and listen to music as usual. Whether it’s running in the background or foreground, Awarner alerts you with an audio warning when you approach each accident-prone section.

Awarner is the only mobile application that warns you when approaching accident-prone sections.

With Awarner you always foresee accident-prone sections.

Forewarned is forearmed.

With AWARNER you are always forewarned about accident-prone sections.

The Awarner app is based on the effect of informing the driver about approaching accident-prone sections. The effect is achieved through psychological influence on the driver. At the moment when the driver is notified that the specific section of the road he is approaching is dangerous and is told what exactly the consequences of the accidents on that section are, the driver realizes that in front of him is not an abstract, but a real danger to his life (health) right here and now.

As a result, under the influence of the instinct of self-preservation, the driver takes all measures in his power to prevent an accident in this area, namely: he concentrates his attention on the road and road conditions as much as possible, follows the existing traffic rules, and takes other possible precautions.

AWARNER history

The company founder first established the effect in 2008 - 2011.

On two sections of the highway, each about 1 mile long, with a traffic intensity of about 25,000 - 30,000 cars per day, there was an accident rate with a fatality rate of about 27 people per year.

The leading cause of accidents in these areas was the inattention of drivers and passing by entering the oncoming lane of traffic in conditions where a sufficiently safe distance for passing was not provided, resulting in head-on collisions with oncoming cars, resulting in death and serious injuries.

When looking for a way to reduce such accidents and mortality, it was assumed that if drivers, when approaching these areas, knew about the danger of these specific areas and the severity of the consequences of an accident, they would increase their attentiveness in these areas, take actions to ensure their safety in these areas as much as possible, and not allow actions that could potentially put them in a dangerous position.

In this regard, drivers were thoroughly informed about the dangers of these areas when they entered these areas directly.

The results of these measures exceeded all expectations—from the beginning of such information, during the period 2008 - 2011, there was not a single accident with fatal consequences in the control areas. Since then, work on the systems has started, and now, as a result of that work, you can download the Awarner App.

So, we reviewed more than 95% of all car accidents in the last years. Using that data, we made maps of places where the most severe car accidents happen repeatedly, and using that map, we made the Awarner App.
